Cats may have nine lives, but a genetic abnormality has given this cat four ear flaps instead of two.
Ted and Valerie Rock of Illinois first saw the cat in 2006 at a neighborhood bar in Chicago before a Bears game. The bar owner had put up a litter of eight cats for adoption, and the freaky four-eared feline was the only one left. "The people in the bar, because it was coming up on Halloween, were thinking it was a devil cat or had evil powers or something," said Ted.
But the Rocks had just lost their 20-year-old cat, so they decided to take him home. Their son, a huge "Star Wars" fan, named the cat after Yoda and his pointy ears.
The extra set of ear flaps can cause hearing problems, but Yoda’s vet says he is perfectly healthy. The Rocks worry most that someone will attempt to steal their unique kitty. "So we had him chipped, and we keep him inside." No news on whether this Yoda is any good with a light saber.
