A Detroit woman gave birth to twin boys in different years. Tangernika Woods and her husband welcomed their first twin, Tarrance, at 11:51 pm on Wednesday, December 31, 2008. Their second twin, Tariq, arrived to the world 26 minutes later at 12:17 am Thursday, January 1, 2009.
Woods wanted to give birth to both boys on New Year’s Day, but the fraternal twins came into the world proving that they’re not identical twins. “They bring in their own years the best way they can,” Woods said. “I was just happy that they were here and were healthy.”.
The boys weighed in at 5 pounds 7 ounces and 5 pounds 15 ounces. The family is expected to return home Saturday.
